Admission to the Cornell Hotel School is based on a sophisticated process.

In addition to considering your academic profile, we will also assess your personal skills in leadership, service to others, and entrepreneurial spirit. We pay attention to both I.Q. and E.Q. (emotional quotient) factors.

Work experience or a knowledge of the hospitality industry, through part-time employment or internships, is highly recommended. It is important for you to articulate why you feel our program would be the right match. Students who convey a special understanding of service and identify an enthusiasm for considering a career in the vast field of hospitality will enhance their chances for admission.
