Ithaca

Transportation

Ithaca is approximately five hours by car from New York City, Philadelphia, and Toronto; another hour on the road gets you to Boston, Cleveland, or Washington, D.C. Within an hour's drive are the cities of Syracuse and Binghamton, the Finger Lakes wine district, the Watkins Glen auto-racing course, and Corning Museum of Glass.

By bus, Greyhound Bus Lines provides Ithaca with frequent service to rail connections, most major North American cities, and many towns. ShortLine Bus Company also provides service between Ithaca and New York City and the rest of New York State and the Northeast.

By plane, USAirways serves the Ithaca–Tompkins Regional Airport with daily flights to and from New York City, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia. Limousines, taxis, and rental cars are available at the airport, which is a ten-minute drive from Cornell. In addition, most major airlines serve Syracuse's Hancock International Airport, an hour-and-a-quarter drive north of Ithaca.
