Course Focus:

Teams seem to have emerged as the principal paradigm for delivering product in our rapidly changing business environment. Unfortunately, the concepts of team and teamwork are under attack by people who insist upon using them too casually. This course is designed to provide the participants with the information they need to think about these concepts in a thoroughly businesslike manner, while at the same time positioning them to make teamwork a reality in their area of responsibility.

The dynamic used throughout this course is one of learning while actually doing. Large and small group discussions, coupled with the use of several instruments, including The Turnaround Case Study. All participants should be prepared to engage in a group dynamic perhaps best known as “discovery learning” as they participate in a project planning exercise and Paul Mok’s communication style survey. The final peer evaluations provide each participant with valuable insight into how they are inclined to behave in team situations. These exercises provide the students with a matrix for learning and understanding the principles of teamwork, and the benefits it produces.
