Title: The Dynamic Relationship between Demand, Product, and
Profit in Rooms Division Management
Singapore (January 8 - 10, 2009)
Course Cost
US$2,500
CLOSED |
Course Focus:
This course presents a unique and engaging overview
of profitability tactics for the hotel industry, with emphasis on
product, rate and room inventory issues. We use a pedagogical
technique known as “Discovery Instruction” where participants
combine theory and practice in a competitive, real-time,
experiential exercise -CHESS.
The centerpiece of the course is the CHESS-I exercise, an advanced,
real-time simulation of a hotel rooms division. During the course of
the program, participants apply the principles introduced in
discussion sessions in their own computer-based, virtual hotels.
CHESS provides a common frame of reference for discussions regarding
yield and profitability issues, as well as a competitive environment
which is realistic, fast-paced, and fun. |
Key Benefits:
The Competitive Hospitality Education Simulation
Series - I, is a state-of-the-art, computerized simulation of a
hotel rooms division. Unlike traditional “batch processed”
management simulations, CHESS works in real-time, which means that
events are continuously unfolding as the hours and days pass on your
simulated hotel’s clock. Managers must make critical pricing,
inventory and resource allocation decisions as windows of
opportunity open and close. There has simply never been a better way
to illustrate the time-critical nature of yield management
decision-making. |
Topics Include:
-
Structuring the value added components in the
rooms division
-
Managing the rate inventory plan at the front
office
-
Measuring the contributing margins for multiple
sources of trade
-
Maximizing yield in the rooms division
