Dr. Sunmee Choi is an Assistant Professor at the School of
Business at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. Prior to joining
Yonsei University in March 2005, Dr. Choi has been a faculty member
at the School of Hospitality Management at Pennsylvania State
University, and a visiting faculty member at IMHI at ESSEC and at
the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University.Dr. Choi has
taught courses on quantitative analysis, decision modeling, revenue
management and operations management at these universities. She has
also taught courses for diverse executive education programs offered
by various educational institutions such as National Business
Traveler Association, Association of Corporate Travel Executives,
Army Lodging, and Escola Superior de Hotelaria e Turismo do Estoril
in Portugal.
The area of Dr. Choi's research interest has been revenue management,
especially in its application to hospitality businesses. Her
research work has been published in journals such as Cornell Hotel
and Restaurant Administration Quarterly, Journal of Hospitality and
Tourism Research, Journal of Revenue and Pricing Management and
Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Marketing. Recently, she
published an article titled “An Evaluation of Contribution
Enhancement Opportunity for Hotels” in Journal of Hospitality and
Tourism Research and another article titled “Hotel Revenue
Management and Its Impact on Customer Fairness Perception” in
Journal of Revenue and Pricing Management.
Dr. Choi received her M.S. and Ph.D. from the School of Hotel
Administration at Cornell University.
Before joining the academic world, Dr. Choi served the hospitality
industry at various positions, including the Director of Hotel
Revenue Management at priceline.com, Reservations Manager at a Hyatt
Hotel, Assistant General Manager at a Hampton Inn, and a Marketing
Manager at a Sheraton Hotel. |
