“TS”, as he likes to be called, is an Associate
Professorial Fellow of Strategy, Management & Organization at the
Nanyang Business School. He teaches Corporate and Business Strategy,
as well as Entrepeneurship in the MBA Program.
Mr. Toh Thian Ser was Vice-Dean of the school and served in the Investment
Committee of the NTU Endowment Fund.
Prior to joining academia, Mr. Toh Thian Ser was chief executive officer of two
Singapore-based stockbroking firms and ran the investment banking
arm of a leading Singapore bank. He has also held senior editorial
positions in the newspaper industry.
Mr. Toh Thian Ser has served as a member of the Trade Development Board, Securities
Industry Council, Medifund Advisory Council, the National
Productivity Board, and sat on the boards of several
government-linked companies. He has consulted on policy-related and
other projects with the Economic Development Board, the Trade
Development Board, the Department of Statistics (Ministry of Trade
and Industry), the Singapore Productivity and Standards Board, Tuas
Power, National Computer Systems and the Singapore Confederation of
Industries. He has also taught in programs customized for firms such
as Roche Pharmaceuticals, RGM International, Government Savings Bank
of Thailand, Neptune Orient Lines, Sun Microsystems, Sol Melia
Group, Yum! Restaurants International, GE Asia, Philips Asia,
Singapore Airlines, Singtel, Singapore Power, United Overseas Bank
and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
