India"Namaste (Hi), my name is Ramiah Daniels, and I am the EAM, Food and Beverage at The Leela Goa. Goa, as you know, is a very famous resort destination in India, and I represent the hotel from the food and beverage side of the hotel. This is my first opportunity to have the course at Cornell University and I was really pleased to know that I can do it so close to India. The logistics made it very possible for us to attend this particular course. The course that I just completed is Strategic Marketing for Hotels and Restaurants. Now, marketing is a phrase that a lot of people use and we operations people are not so familiar with it. What is nice to know is how marketing is so integral part in our day-to-day operations. And this was one of the biggest learning apart from, of course, the course content and what we experienced during the three days. Another big learning during this time was the actual experience of interacting with fellow professionals, fellow colleagues from the industry as well as people from the industry who are from the marketing side of the industry. And that was the really the biggest take that we could say we got out of this course." |
