India"I'm Francis Thomas. I'm with the IHM Mumbai since 1987. I'm a Senior Lecturer in Finance and I teach basically Finance and Strategic Management. The purpose of attending this program is to further enhance the knowledge and the skills in the Strategic Management field. I found this particular program quite resourceful, meaningful and it will help me in the long run to deliver the subject in a more effective way. We had a heterogeneous group here - people from China, Hong Kong, India (and) Korea. It gives us a lot of exposure, understanding others' cultures, understanding others' ideas, others' strategies, others' missions and their vision. It made us to think in a different way strategically. In the last three days, we had a detailed discussion on mission, objectives, the strategy setting, value chain analysis, and we read topics from the strategic human resource management. I think the program was so exciting and from the current March, many will come in large numbers to attend the program in future, maybe in 2007 and 2008. I hope Cornell will again align with Nanyang to conduct similar programs which (are) related to hospitality industry, like topics on finance, topics on strategic management, human resource management, marketing, or any other alike fields.
